Originally opened in 2005, the Antigua Athletic Club offers a fitness facility, social centre and island oasis all in one. Set on the edge of the Sticky Wicket Cricket Grounds, and surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, this beautiful, 3,800 sq ft health and fitness club caters to everyone from serious body builders and fitness enthusiasts to families and individuals seeking somewhere to unwind with friends.
The exercise facilities, set in a bright room with exposed wooden trusses, contain a complete line of Cybex strength and cardiovascular equipment – with more pieces and more options than any other gym in Antigua. Specially designed to reduce impact-related injuries, the weight room floor features 5/8” thick interlocking rubber flooring, while classrooms offer a cushioned maple flooring that rests on rubber pads. The spacious locker rooms feature an oak and granite finish, spotless shower facilities and more than 100 private lockers.
Antigua Athletic Club members also enjoy the added benefit of luxury amenities, including the island’s only 25-meter competitive lap pool, discreet open-air massage room, and prime location on the western boundary of the Sticky Wicket Cricket Grounds.
VITALITY KITCHEN & BAR
Though the gym and pool are reserved for members only, the Club's fitness classes and open-air smoothie bar and Vitality Kitchen & Bar are open to the general public. The Vitality Kitchen and Bar offers a health-conscious and globally-inspired menu with dishes made from scratch and from all natural ingredients. Patrons of the cafe may also take advantage of the Athletic Club's free WIFI. The Vitality Kitchen & Bar has a fully licenced bar, where non-members can kick back and relax, making Antigua Athletic Club and the Vitality Kitchen & Bar the perfect stop to relax and spend time before flying out from VC Bird International Airport.
