Caribbean STAY

IT'S ALL ABOUT GREAT FOOD....AND JAZZ OF COURSE

Located on the water's edge in Jolly Harbour, Al Porto is all about great quality, simple, freshly prepared pizza,  and homemade pasta served in stylish contemporary surroundings.
It's one of those times when you sit down and question whether you are in Antigua. Of course the fact the air is warm and yachts and dinghies can literally tie up marina side reminds you that you are in the Caribbean.

There is a large deck on the water with a constant breeze that makes for a perfect dining experience. The open kitchen allows patrons to have a peek at the chefs in action. The brick domed pizza oven churns out delicious thin crust pizzas... many say the best pizza on the island!

The menu is strictly Italian with authentic dishes from various regions in Italy. You can start with the antipasto platter for 2, or some simple starters like caprese, bruschetta, or calamari fritti. Enjoy a large selection of tradional pizzas like florentine, prosciutto and pepperoni. Pasta's to die for like linguini al vongole, smoked salmon penne or a seafood risotto. Not to mention mouth watering mains.. chicken caciatora, veal limone, fillet steak, fresh mahi mahi....Dessert tiramisu, panne cotta & chocolate mousse.

New in 2014 is  the "ON THE GRILL" section of the menu, with a selection of beef certified Angus and lamb sirloin, tenderloin, rib eyes, T-bones and cowboy steak, with sides and a choice of a delicious sauce, either peppercorn, mushrooms or gorgonzola.

The wine list is an excellent selection of French and Italian options including Rose, prosecco and champagne. Check the full list here.

Al Porto is open for dinner seven days a week from 5 pm. Tuesday is the famous 2-4-1 pizza night, when the restaurant is literally buzzing. Two sittings at 6 pm and 8 pm are hotly contested.  Even though it is completely full, they are guaranteeing if you don't get your pizza in 40 minutes it's on the house. (No tripping up the waitress or delaying tactics allowed!). Parties of up to 6  maximum only, to ensure service levels are fast. Be sure to call and make a reservation. Walk-ins rarely get a seat on Tuesdays.

Thursdays' is all you can eat Pasta night, with six different types of hot & fresh homemade pastas in a buffet with bread and salad for EC$50.  Singer Mackenzie Brown will be on hand to provide entertainment.

Lobster Sundays feature famous local whole lobster with sides, for EC$100 per person.

On Mondays, kick back and enjoy live music from popular bands including Itchy Feet with Asher Otto. Same deal as Tuesdays, reserve a table for up to six people and choose between 6 pm or 8 pm sitting.

One off nights  and upcoming art launches take place throughout the season. Check the full Al Porto calendar for what is on each night.
