Historical & Developmental Perspective

Born out of the need for a training institution within the Caribbean region to provide higher level training to senior personnel within the security sector. The Jamaica Constabulary Staff College (JCSC) was established in 1984.

Welcome to the webpage of the Organization of American States’ Office in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Our objective is to showcase the programs and activities contributing to national development. We trust that the site will promote a deeper understanding of OAS efforts in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Our office was established on November 10, 1985, and became operational in 1986.

The political head of each of some 10 federal ministries – such as the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice and Legal affairs – is a minister. Ministers are appointed by the governor-general, on the advice of the prime minister, from among members of the National Assembly. Nevis has its own legislature, however the central government is responsible for overall policy formation. Every department of the government of St Kitts and Nevis is under the supervision of a permanent secretary whose office is a public office.

The Management of Delisle Walwyn Group of Companies reached out to the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive School in their time of need and assisted the learning institution by providing school supplies and tools to assist the teachers in their efforts to inspire, teach and develop the differently abled students that attend the school.
