IF YOU HAVE A BODY, THEN YOU CAN DO YOGA!
The Yoga Antigua studio in English Harbour offers a full programme of yoga classes suited to everybody.....and every body.
The studio, which is part of the Antigua Yacht Club and is situated just along the road to Pigeon Beach at the side of Club Sushi, offers a roomy air-conditioned space for people to learn and develop this 3000 year old practice.
The studio has been created by Lyn Pearce, who has a loyal following of students having been teaching on the island for nine years.
"For a long time I taught in houses, clubs and hotels," said Lyn. "I really wanted to create a space that was exclusively for yoga. We had our first very successful season, and the 2013/14 winter saw us rebrand with a new website and a new bigger space at the Antigua Yacht Club. The room is perfect - a cool and calm oasis in the heart of English Harbour.
"This year we're also expanding the range of classes we offer as well as workshops and events."
Students of all ages, levels of fitness and yoga experience are made very welcome.
"Saying that you’re too stiff to do yoga is like saying you’re too dirty to have a bath!" adds Lyn. “Yoga can bring you flexibility, renewed physical and emotional strength, weight loss and a new lease of life, whoever you are.”
The studio offers a full programme of classes including hatha, hot, vinyasa, ashtanga and gentle yoga for beginners and advanced students, with guest teachers and extra classes scheduled throughout the busy season. Discounts are available for block bookings, and a loyalty card scheme has also been introduced. Studio teachers also offer one to one and private classes in people's homes, rental villas, hotels and on boats.
