The scenic town of Portsmouth, NH has always been home to craft beer in New England dating back to 1865 with the launch of Frank Jones Brewery. Brought back on the map by the Portsmouth Brewery and local legend Tod Mott in the early 1990's, now almost 30 years later hosts a stretch of some of the most fascinating (not to mention tasty) micro and nano breweries in all of New England. Only 45 minutes up the Interstate from Boston, this makes for an enjoyable and believe it or not educational way to spend a day.
