Casa Sunshine is a huge beachfront family vacation villa located on the Eastern side of Dutch St Maarten in a quiet residential area on the island known as Guana Bay. Built and ready to receive its first guests in July of 2013. This is not a luxury villa but is well suited for a large family or group of friends.
This spacious villa offers 7 bedrooms (6 with king beds and 1 with queen), and 7 1/2 bathrooms. It has approximately 5,000 square feet of interior living space with an additional covered terrace and gazebo areas. It enjoys wonderful views of St. Barth’s and the Atlantic Ocean, and is adjacent to a non commercial beach. There are no beach chairs of other amenities on Guana Bay Beach and the water can be a bit rougher than some of the more protected beaches.Please note that Guana Bay beach is part of a protected marine reserve where sea turtles may nest, therefore, machinery is not allowed on the beach to clean seaweed which may accumulate from time to time. In 2015 there is an abundance of seaweed on many of the St Martin beaches. Casa Sunshine has two pools, one pool for swimming, playing and exercising and the second pool for relaxing with your cocktail in the “punch” pool. This pool is also wonderful for the children.
The villa offers a massive living and dining area with a large American style, open floor plan kitchen with bar. While there is no air conditioning in the living area, the sliding glass doors can be opened to allow the trade winds in to cool down the interior space. Located on the main level of the house you’ll also find three large bedrooms and three and a half baths. The additional three bedrooms with three baths are on the second floor. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and each has a TV with cable programming.
Casa Sunshine is a perfect place for total privacy and relaxation. Bring a large family or a group of friends to enjoy the sunshine and the tropical breezes that Guana Bay has to offer! Please note that beach chairs are not provided. If your party wants to enjoy a commercial beach with lounge chairs, umbrellas, water sports, restaurants and bar service, then famous Orient Bay beach is approximately 20 minutes drive from the villa. Le Galion Beach is another family beach even closer to the villa.
The villa does have a washer/dryer but it is reserved for housekeeping only. Upon request she may, if time allows, do small personal laundry but is not obligated to do this. Please understand that tips are appreciated for this additional work. Please note Casa Sunshine is not a luxury villa, as the furniture, finishes are modest at best.
