Each hand-built wooden cottage has stunning views from the open veranda across the forest to the Cabrits National Park and the Caribbean sea.
Humming birds, glowing fireflies and tiny lizards are just some of the wildlife that will visit you in your cottage. (Despite the abundance of colourful creatures, Dominica has no dangerous spiders or snakes.)
Manicou River is totally off-grid. All of our plumbing is rainwater and all of our electricity is solar-powered, making us one of the few 100% energy self-sufficient resorts on the island.
The cottages are spaced well apart and surrounded by trees offering peace and privacy. Each is a spacious 500ft2/50m2.
The furniture is hand-made with local wood and includes a king-size bed with natural latex and bamboo mattress and 100% cotton bed linen. The fully equipped kitchen includes a small refrigerator and gas stove and the en-suite bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet.
Internet access is optional. If you prefer to get away from it all and have your holiday completely off-line, there will be no internet access on site. If you would like the convenience of being able to get online we can provide wifi in your cottage.
