2007 was of special significance in the history of our Company. That year we achieved and we celebrated a major milestone, 25 years serving the Anguillian community and visitors to Anguilla's shores - our silver anniversary of doing business. We take great pride in the fact that we have survived and triumphed over the many challenges of the travel industry over the past 33 years and are still here and going strong. This is due in no small measure to the support and patronage over the years of our many loyal clients from home and abroad. We are particularly proud of the fact that we are Anguillian owned and operated, bringing to the services we render the Anguillian touch, style and hospitality, which has helped to make Anguilla's tourism distinctive and outstanding in the Caribbean. Anguilla's tourism is now experiencing an exciting and innovative growth phase, which is bringing fresh opportunities and challenges to Malliouhana Travel and Tours, as we pursue our second quarter century in business. We are excited by the prospects and are committed, ready and able to meet the growth in demand for our services and to innovate and introduce new services in response to the needs of our increasingly diversified clients.
In the early years, the 1980s and early 1990s, during which we have been in business, our main focus were airline travel services, as these were in greater demand in the years when Anguilla's tourism industry was in its infancy. It was during this period that we first introduced Destination Management Services (DMS) as demand in this area began to grow with the tourism industry. Today we offer complete Destination Management Services. This is now the main focus of our business and has been for a number of years. Our Manager Tours, Mrs. Ann Gumbs, and Manager Travel, Mrs. Paula Richardson, have been with our Company from its inception. They have been and are the backbone of Malliouhana Travel and Tours. They have experienced and have played leading roles in the growth and development of our Company. They deliver a diverse range of services particularly to our clients from overseas. As a result of our hard work and commitment we have achieved the status of a top DMS agency on Anguilla. We intend to keep it this way.
