EXQUISITE DESIGN IN CERAMICS, STONE, METAL AND WOOD

Cedars Pottery began in 1996 when Antiguan born ceramicist Michael Hunt returned to Antigua with his English wife and ceramicist Imogen Margrie.

They collaborated to produce a range of hand thrown decorated tableware. Whilst continuing a limited range of domestic ware, they are now developing an eclectic mix of architectural, one-of-a-kind pieces made to commission, in collaboration with architects and clients.

Their portfolio includes ceramic wall pieces, relief carvings, highly individual fountains and imaginative ceramic sculptures.

Sconces
Cedars Pottery is developing a range of production lighting sconces, castin white earthenware clay. These wall sconces fire to a warm off white bisque finish. Ideal in itself, the sconce also takes well to being painted, potentially matching any decor. The range of wall sconces and customized cut out motifs is shown here.

Wall Pieces
Architectural and sculptural wallpieces now include handmade and majolica painted ceramic tiled panels and a series of highly skilled relief carvings in a wide range of materials including limestone, greenstone, andiroba wood and copper.

Fountains
Responding to requests from architects and individual home owners for unique sculptural installations, a varied collection of fountains has evolved. Cedars Pottery have been creating individual, one-of-a-kind fountains in pebbled, flinted and carved stone and in clay.

Sculptures
Michael was asked to produce a sculpture in local stone of a Hawksbill turtle, a turtle that is indigenous to the area, to be located by the client’s pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This successful project has led to a steady stream of commissioned pieces.

In 2011, he was invited to Changchun, China along with 103 other sculptors from around to the world to create monumental pieces for a series of sculpture parks.

Commissions
Cedars Pottery welcomes commissions from architects, interior designers, the hotel trade and the general public. They embrace the challenge of working to specific design briefs, or will generate ideas and images for the client’s approval.

The quality of Cedars Pottery products has resulted in a diverse market from high quality residential properties on the private resort island of Jumby Bay to the award winning Curtain Bluff hotel. They are looking to extend their products and services regionally.
