La Haut or Le Haut literally means “the height” in Patois, a French dialect that is commonly spoken by St. Lucians. La Haut sits on a hill overlooking Soufriere, one of the oldest towns in St Lucia. Part of a 52-acre former coconut and cocoa estate, the main Guest House possesses a unique history. Nearly 100 years old, the main guesthouse was originally a cocoa house used for fermenting and drying cocoa beans hand-picked on the estate. In 1995, the building was converted and refurbished into a 6-room guesthouse.

First, a little history...
It began in 1906 when Dr. Alexander James McCatty generously donated his beachproperty to found a bathing club in Montego Bay. The Club got its name because it was used by Dr. McCatty and his friends, who were mainly from the medical profession and, at that time they entered the tiny beach through a cave. The cave however, was destroyed by a hurricane in 1932. The water which is crystal clear has a temperature range, winter and summer from 78 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, 22 to 28 Celcius.

Clear Sky Hotel is strategically located about 5 minutes walk from the longest stretch of undeniably white sandy beach of Anse de Sable and 5 minutes drive from the Hewannora International Airport. We offer 14 comfortable rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and double or king size beds. Of these, 4 are self contained units with kitchen facilities. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with cable TV, direct dial telephone, iron and ironing board, alarm clock radio and some with private patio. All rooms have 110 and 220 voltage.
