Acadia General Hospital serves a growing Acadia Parish population of approximately 62,000. Acadia General Hospital provides acute medical and surgical care, obstetric, gynecology, pediatric, orthopedic, otolaryngology, cardiac, nephrology, ophthalmology, oncology, emergency services, vein therapy, wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Two outpatient departments of the hospital are offsite: Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine located in Tower One; and Cardiac Outpatient Services located on Northern Avenue.

University Hospital & Clinics (UHC) is a full-service, acute care hospital that serves Acadiana as its primary graduate medical education center by training residents and fellows, cultivating physicians for the future. The hospital is licensed for 116 beds and is Acadiana’s primary charity hospital for the uninsured, underinsured and indigent population.

LGMC provides Registration Services in the main lobby on 1st floor; hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. Lafayette General Health (LGH) announced today that it will acquire Regional Medical Center of Acadiana (RMCA) located on the corner of W. Congress Street and Ambassador Caffery from HCA MidAmerica, a division of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), based in Nashville, TN.

The deal is expected to be complete in the 4th quarter of 2015. Once complete, LGH will own, operate and manage RMCA as an extension of Lafayette General Medical Center. HCA MidAmerica will continue to operate Women’s & Children’s Hospital (WCH) and Lafayette Surgicare.

St. Martin Hospital (SMH) is a critical access hospital maintaining inpatient acute beds and a skilled nursing rehabilitation unit, as well as a staffed 24-hour ER. Our patient satisfaction scores reflect our sincere dedication to quality care, as we rank among the highest scores achievable. Our inpatient, outpatient and emergency services rank in the Top 1% nationally (99th percentile in all three patient perception areas). ER visits are up 25% from the previous year. St. Martin Hospital features the only emergency room available in all of St. Martin Parish.

St Martin’s C of E Primary School is set within large grounds that include our own wood in which we run our forest school.
