An innovative cuentaropista store, Alma is the place for visitors and locals to find that special gift or or memento of Cuba. The boutique carries the best handmade gift items from artisans all over Cuba such as Trinidad embroidered dresses for girls and guayaberas for boys, Guantanamo baskets, books made from recycled paper, hand-painted cushions and bags, jewelry from various Cuban designers, and elegantly lacquered vintage-style humidors.
Mixing natural materials like wood and cow bone, and recycled goods like discarded soda tabs or plastic pallet ties, the artists that Alma showcases create truly unique goods. Alma’s goal is to elevate Cuban artists and artisans demonstrating their creativity and the quality of their work.
The shop is housed in the foyer of a beautiful, pale pink restored mansion on a quiet tree-lined street in Havana in the upscale neighborhood of Miramar.
Alma donates a portion of the profits from sales to PAC, an organization helping Cuba’s stray animal population.
