Aero Caribbean is a government owned airline that was created in 1982 in order to take some of the passenger load off the country’s main carrier, Cubana de Aviacion or Cubana. This carrier service operates several domestic flights to various Cuban destinations including Varadero, Havana, Cayo Largo, Gerona, Cayo Coco, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba and Nueva Gerona.
AeroCaribbean is based out of Havana and uses the José Martí International Airport as its main base of operations; this airline has its own terminal at this airport.
flightThe carrier offers flights to Cuba from a few international destinations like the Cayman Islands, Santo Domingo, Managua, Punta Cana, Port-au-Prince and San Pedro Sula. However, some of these flights are not of the usual variety and you may have to charter one if you wish to travel to Cuba from one of these destinations. Travellers may have to charter flights to go to place sin the Caribbean and in South America.
The airline has won many international prizes for its quality of service and among these is the WQC Gold award given by the World Quality Commitments. The airline services about 14 different destinations and has about twenty one aircrafts which are used for domestic, international and cargo purposes.
Aero Caribbean is a popular airline that offers cheap domestic flights to regions in Cuba and fairly reasonable international charter flight rates to passengers, but it is a small airline with less than ten aircraft.
